Happy New Years!!! Yay 2009!

Hope everyone enjoyed themselves last night! We had a blast at my father-in-law's house, eating yummy foods and waiting for the ball to drop.

Today I decided that I would start putting away Xmas decorations. Well, that turned into some spring cleaning. I have 5 different things going at this very minute. But I was cleaning through some drawers and found all the cards I've saved in the past year. Got a lot of them with the baby shower, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and First Birthday.

I wanted to share my recycling project with you.

Here are all of my envelopes. I put them through my new shredder to make confetti. I figure I can use this to stuff gift bags. (Did you ever see how much that stuff costs?) Here's the after picture:

Well, I hope we all have a better year! It's so nice to start fresh.

Happy New Year. I just wanted to tell you that I just found your blog. I too am a Mom. I have a 18 year old who is in college for the first time this year. I have a 16 year old who just got his drivers license this year and a new guitar! I also am a Mom to a son who just turned two right after Christmas. My life is always busy. I always am cleaning up messes. I am trying to be green too. I make shopping bags (so we don't use those paper or plastic ones)but my shopping bags are much cuter than the ugly canvas bags you see in the stores. I purchase material that was donated to a local animal shelter to be sold in their thrift store. The material I purchase was unsellable. I buy the material an make bags out of it. The animal shelter still gets their profit and I get to make a super cute bag! I will admit that I do have a purse/bag collection and I didn't see why my shopping bags could not be just as cute as the other bags I carry. The best part is that I look cute while I am helping the earth and the bags are profiting the animals. If you would like to check out some of my bags feel free to Visit My Website or you can email me at smilenbackatu@gmail.com. Thanks for having a great website. I will come back and visit you soon.
